The official android remote for XBMC is no longer on the google play store and there does not appear to be an official android remote for kodi yet. Any reason why the official xbmc remote is not on the google play store for android? I am guessing a new remote for kodi on android is still in development.

The original hasn't been maintained in a long while. The group is in talks about maybe making an existing open source Android remote as official, but a final decision hasn't been made yet.

Thanks for the update. The original, although not being maintained, works and still is the best. Just wish it was still on the google play market. I did find where to download it as a third party app "http://www.androidapk.ws/app/official-xbmc-remote-apk/download" if anyone is interested.

it's broken for anything 13.x and up that's why we don't want it published

Looks like you've found what you were looking for, but just in case, it's definitely worth taking a look at Kore as an Android remote if you haven't already.
