router help - ekirk - 2006-10-28

Hi I have a linksys WRT54G router. Is there a special way that this is suppose to be configured? I've done all of my port-forwarding correctly and I still cannot connect. if anybody has any info for me that would be greatly appreciated. thanks

still cannot connect WHAT exactly? If you give us no information we can only give you no help...

To Xkink Kai of course. everytime I try to log on I get kicked off. Xkink aways says to check my port - forwarding but I know that is is done correctly. Also when I switch to diagnostics mode my reachable network says not yet. I'm very close I just don't what else to do. Something else that I find weird is that when I try to log on through XBMC I can connect. I can see all the arenas & games. I even putt a friends name in and I am able to see if he is online or not.

then it appears to be working...
the ENGINE runs independently of the GUI. the ENGINE is running on your PC.
the GUI is on the PC and also on your Xbox (in the form of XBMC). When you log on with XBMC it will kick you off of the GUI on the PC.

If you really did your port forwarding correctly, then you need to check the PC and make sure that you don't have any software firewalls getting in the way.

You say you can connect via XBMC, have you successfully played any games?

no I haven't been able to play

hmmm. what ports did you forward and where did you forward them?

- ekirk - 2006-10-30

ports of port? I just forwarded one port.

xlinkk1 30000to 30000 udp

- SleepyP - 2006-10-31

to where?

- ekirk - 2006-10-31

I don't understand. I port forward to my router.

he means what ip did you forward to .. also did you add 30000 to the kai config under kai port ? .. as a test you can always put your router into DMZ mode and disable all forwards ..
