Upgrading MythTV Add-on? - tjharris - 2015-11-04
Another newbie question.. I just upgraded my OpenElec on Pi2 to 6.0.0, but the mythtv add-on is still 2.4.3. There are newer versions available, so I was wondering about getting a newer version. But, I don't want to leave OpenElec in a bad state for future upgrades.
- Is there a changelog for the MythTV add-on somewhere, to see if there is a reason to upgrade?
- Is there an easy way to upgrade in OpenElec? Is it a manual process? I found the update zip file, how do I install it?

There is something kooky about openelec's addon system for pvr addons in 6.0. See my comments regarding pvr.hts on the oe forum 6.0 release thread. Pretty sure from here https://github.com/kodi-pvr/pvr.mythtv/commits/Isengard we should be getting 2.7.4.

I didn't see your comments on the openelec forum (threads were too long to find individual posts), any more info on this?
Maybe this is a symptom of an upgraded system - it didn't change an existing add-on. Maybe removing and re-adding would get the newer version?

I haven't looked any further, and my pvr is working ok anyway.

I'm seeing the same issue. I'm assuming I can manually install 2.7.4 but will that defeat automatic updates in the future? Is there a way to get OE 6 to see/get the correct version of pvr.mythtv?
