Can't open OSD - Neuntoter - 2016-02-01

running Jarvis RC2 on OpenElec 6.95.7
Hardware is an ODROID C1+
So the issue is that I can't bring up the OSD menu while playing a video using the web interface remote or any remote that relies on it (Anymote or Kore). Menu and OK button neither one appear to do anything during full screen playback but work elsewhere. I tried default and Chorus web interfaces both.
I can open the OSD menu by moving the mouse so I know the OSD menu exists and can be brought up.
I also can't really figure out how a keymap entry should look for the issue. It would appear that it is not handled as a remote entry?
Any help would be much appreciated.

P.S. I am posting this here also because I don't think it is strictly related to web interface and it directly effects the functionality of Kore. It likely has more to do with an issue of the core but I don't know where to post that.
Can anyone else reproduce this issue?
