Need help with re-encoding video - hibbs - 2016-02-14
I have a GooBang Doo MXIII Android 4.4.2 Quad Core Streaming Media Player with KODI XBMC 15.2 - RC1 installed. Having trouble re-encoding videos to smaller file sizes that play smoothly. Have tried both Handbrake set to android and Xmedia Recode .
What are recommended settings for 360,480,720 and 1080p? How should the resolution and frame rate be set compared to the TV which is 1920 x 1080, 60 hz? Xmedia Recode allows resolution degradation, not Handbrake.
Maybe there are better conversion tools for this purpose.
Any helpful links or advice would be appreciated.

Try to re-encode the video using Constant Framerate instead of Variable Framerate. I have had luck with that, the files are a little larger but they play smoother.
