Aeon MQ6 dependencies not met.. PLEASE HELP :-( - bungieke - 2016-03-28
Hello everyone.
i used to run KodiBuntu, but since the desktop environment didn't offer what i needed, i installed Ubuntu 14.04LTS 64bit.
Added the XBMC-team PPA and installed kodi again.
Where it was previously perfectly possible to install the Aeon MQ6 skin, it's not possible anymore.
i'm running Kodi 16.0 Jarvis. Everything works, movies playing HD... all ok.. except, i so much want that skin back.
It's not in the kodi repositories (only Aeon 5)
and i downloaded 3 zip versions of the skin from the official kodi archives, but it keeps telling me that it cannot install the skin.
It gives me a message something XBMC 5.9.0..... but that message always goes away before i can fully read it..
text rolling is:
The dependency on XBMC.Gui 5.9.0 could not be ...... (and then the message dissappears)
Tried this with 3 zipfiles of the skin:
- skin.aeonmq6-2.4.0.zip
- skin.aeonmq6-3.2.0.zip
- skin.aeonmq6-3.3.0.zip (where this is the latest one i can find)
Only tried it with the zipfiles because this skin is nowhere in the kodi repository, where when i used kodibuntu, it WAS there...
Can someone please help me out with this?
I've been searching for hours on the internet, and it seems that on the entire world nobody has this problem? or didn't put it anywhere on the internet :-(
I always enjoyed this skin so much

MQ6 skin was make for use with Kodi Isengard, you need wait for MQ7, or using MQ6 mod version available in this same area for other members.

i didn't know that this skin simply doesn't work on 16.0.
Thinking something was wrong with my system.
I'll search if i can find some mod. Cause going back to an older version of kodi on ubuntu always gave loads of problems.. So i'm not gonna try that.

Dependencies not met simply means (From what I understand) that the script relies on certain other add ons in order to run. Since you do not have these, the skin will not install.
If you can find out what those are and install them first, then your skin should install.
That is exactly what I am trying to find out in order to install MQ6 on my nVidia sheild, but I am not having much luck in doing so :-(
There is also no point in waiting for MQ7 etc... As it is simply way to far behind. By the time it's released even Krypton will be old !

It seemed that it just didn't work on Jarvis (16.0)
i downloaded the modded version of the MQ6 skin, and it works perfectly now ;-)
Maybe you can try this one on your shield? Who knows, it might work.
