Channel switching speed - bvarnai - 2016-05-09
Hi,
I would like to use my Vu+ Solo SE V2 just as streaming server with Kodi pvr.vuplus plugin. It works, but the channel switching speed is not what I expected. The Kodi client is fast, gigabit LAN. Vu+ Solo SE has dual core 1.3 GHz CPU, channel switch should be done immediately I suppose (at least the same speed as local switching) Is there any settings or special image to improve response time?

Hi,
no Solution for you unfortunately. I tried the same bought one of these SOLO SE V2 Boxes and installed an VTI Image. Chanell Switching on the box is really fast. (I have DVB-C here)
Then connected to Kodi. All worked out of the box which is great but then I was really disappointed
- Channel Switching is really really slo (in comparison to the box itself)
- No Time-shift
- 2 Disconnects - I had to restart the Kodi Client
I'm back to TVHEadend. It's much fast with the predictive channel switching even faster than the VU+ Box.
There's one reason why you have to choose the VU+ and that is if you have PayTV and must use CI+. Then there's no other choice.
