[WIP] Android Shield TV - zenmaster - 2016-08-06

Inspired by the work of digitalhigh I decided to give a go at skinning something that resemble my shield tv android setup.
The skin is still wip so no ETA yet, I just need reports from people on features that needs to be addressed.

I am not a high level skinner, but I am learning my way around.
Just want to thanks Hitcher, butchabay, jurialmunkey,BigNoid for all the things I learnt from them regarding skinning... You may find some of their work in this skin too, I hope it's ok.

Skin Features:

Kodi 17 Only
Side Menu Panel with separate widgets for each menu section
Multi colour cards in home page
Support with script.skinshortcuts
5 different views
PVR Section

To Do:

Music Playlist, Music Browser... and maybe something else.
Refine and cleanup the xml and the media folder

RE: [WIP] Android Shield TV - yattaah - 2016-08-06

Looks great!

Will it be possible to hide the Movies - TV - Google Play - etc. tiles and use the sidepanel instead on the home screen?
This way the sidepanel would act as the main menu and the rest could be used for widges etc. (like Estuary). I think this would be better to navigate, but maybe it's just me.
An option to replace the move title with the logo could look great in the showcase view (may need a little more space with logos).

All in all it looks great already, I really like the info screen! Especially for your first skin, nice job! Smile

all the tiles are customizable, you can change shortcuts and image too... I may add an option to hide them.

Yeah! Finally somebody is coming up with a new Android skin (the last two attempts never made it even to a public beta version). And this offers the looks of my shield TV. Can't wait for a release!

Instead of completely recreating your own skin you could just continue the working on the DroidTV skin (created by digitalhigh). He open sourced it so people could continue working on it, his skin looked great. It really resembled Android TV.

Nice, so will your tv show view resemble the screenshots below. These are from an app which adheres to the Android TV material guidelines. I like the idea how you can switch Season/Episode without navigation though different views/menus.

For the moment I am using the basic Folder > content approach... Caching all the folders content and displaying it might work for Seasons content but will mess up every other windows like programs etc... I will try to script something different for tv shows as soon as I can
