Launch/start Kodi from a MCE compatible remote - Stoepker - 2016-10-30 Hi all, Several years back I spend 2 days browsing all fora to find a way to launch/start Kodi from my MCE compatible Logitech Harmony remote. Recently the config got compromised and I had to redo those 2 days of searching That is why I'm documenting it here AND also making it available to others Step 1: Right-click on your Kodi-link icon, select the Shortcut tab and enter a shortcut in the Shortcut-key field. I used: Ctrl + Alt + 1. Step 2: Start Kodi with "Run as administrator". This is required for Step 5 to update the registry. Step 3: Install/Enable the MCERemote Add-on in Kodi. Step 4: Start MCERemote from Programs in Kodi. Step 5: Select "Restore default MCERemote settings", then select "Yes" and "Yes". This will map, amongst other, the Red button on the remote to keystrokes Ctrl-Alt-1. Step 6: Reboot the computer to load the new registry settings where a Red button press on your remote will now be translated to Ctrl-Alt-1. The Ctrl-Alt-1 will trigger the Kodi-link to be activated and that will launch Kodi! Done!! |
