404 when connecting via anything but localhost - mgbowe1 - 2017-03-30 Hi Everyone, I'm seeing some unusual behavior (and I hope this the correct sub-forum) with the web-interface in kodi 17.1 on windows 8.1 If I try to access the interface on anything other than localhost (http://127.0.0.1 and http://127.0.0.1:80 fail) I get a 404 error in my browser. I can access my nextpvr web server running on port 8866 works flawlessly from anywhere I would have network access to it, and navigating to http://localhost or http://localhost:80 will bring up the Chorus 2 Interface. Any insight you might be able to provide would be appreciated. Thanks RE: 404 when connecting via anything but localhost - J876 - 2017-03-30 Try these troubleshooting steps to try and get the Web Interface to work on IP addresses other than localhost. Note: This guide assumes you are using the Estuary skin, the default skin for Kodi Krypton. Are the Kodi Settings Correct? Make sure that you set the Kodi Web Server settings correctly as per the Kodi Wiki: http://kodi.wiki/view/Settings/Services/Control
Other possible problems Kodi device firewalls/security software Check if you have a software firewall on the device running Kodi make sure you configure it to allow incoming and outgoing connections on the port you have selected when Kodi is running. Dynamic IP addresses Another common trap is dynamic IP addresses on the device running Kodi. To avoid complications when accessing the device on your LAN, set the IP addresses (IPv4 and/or IPv6) to static or set a DHCP reservation for your Kodi device in your router so it always gets assigned the same IP address. Sometimes you can access the Kodi device on by its DNS hostname instead of its IP address but this doesn't always work reliably. My Kodi devices all have static IP addresses on my LAN. |
