It would be nice to have an addon for news channels.
CTGN China, RTE Ireland, PressTV Iran, ENCA South Africa, I24 Israel, SKY News London all stream from free there web sites in English and there are probably more.

Try out the new 'Featured Add-ons' and with your specified interests, look at Pluto.TV along with the ton of legal add-ons. Most of the broadcasters have taken exception to what is called 're-broadcasting' or streaming over the internet, and demand agreements (read $) with any who carry their signals which pretty well precludes a lot of your interests as far as this forum is concerned. https://kodi.tv/addons

Please post in the pluto thread and the addon author should be able to help, particularly if you actually post a more informative bug report with a debug log (wiki)
