Remove Dimitrology repository from the black list - cibic88 - 2018-06-25

Hi all, I've noticed in the banned addons list Dimitrology repository is listed. One developer was depressed and couldn't maintain it for a little while but now they are back so what gives?

Please remove this ban as it's unwarranted!

Please explain your reasoning

RE: Remove Dimitrology repository from the black list - cibic88 - 2018-06-25

Hi Karellen, give me something to respond to. Why was the repository banned in the first place?

RE: Remove Dimitrology repository from the black list - DaVu - 2018-06-25

That repo was banned, because of what I can find it contains other repos which are also on our banned list.

We won't explain the reason for any repo which is on the banned list now Wink. Just the general consensus is, that most of them are providing add-ons which most likely provide copyrighted content and are considered as piracy.

As we have a neutral stance to such things (means we don't judge anyone using them), we decided to simply not support them on our forums. That's a decisiion we made and that won't change.

Hi the AliveGr addon is watched by many older Greeks around the world who rely on this service. I understand you have policies which require some form of enforcement however it can be to extreme whereby many Greeks in their 70s and 80s around the world who live in a foreign land are also being punished . Please have a heart and give the poor guy a bit of break and restore his service with probationary conditions otherwise you are punshing millions of your viewers around the world. Thank You for time regards Nick on behalf of many older Greeks around the world

As others have mentioned ..this ban is unwarranted. What up with that Kodi?

RE: Remove Dimitrology repository from the black list - DaVu - 2018-06-25

If someone wants that, it can be installed from elsewhere. We already explained why this addon is banned and we have a bad feeling about the addon author.

Everything else is shown on Github:

Also https://dimitrology.com/repo/

Containing banned addons (wiki) and repos:

plugin.video.freshstart-1.0.5.zip 2016-05-05 11:07 219K Fresh Start
repository.tva.common-1.0.2.zip 2017-05-19 18:39 95K TVA Common
script.areswizard-0.0.69.zip 2017-10-22 14:00 2250K Ares Wizard
script.module.f4mproxy-1.0.16.zip 2017-06-28 17:54 18K F4MProxy by Shani

Any repo containing banned addons (wiki) is itself automatically banned, so if they want off the list they need to clear all the junk out of the repo and leave only stuff that doesn't violate our piracy policy (wiki). It's simple as that - if you don't want users impacted by a ban then don't condone, support or provide facilities to access pirated media and you won't get one.

addition: legitimate add-ons can always be submitted to our official repository, so that everybody is benefiting from them, and not just people that happen to find a specific third party repository.
