[Nvidia Shield] - Kodi random behavior - LEFBE - 2018-07-11

Hello Team,

I meet for some time a random problem on my current configuration.
I am trying to understand the source of this behavior.

My configuration
Nvidia Shield 2015 latest version (Kodi latest version).
NAS (who are hosted some content).

Simple network overview
Conneciton: Ethernet wired (cat 6)
Kodi (on SHield) => switch => NAS => Shared folder.

Behavior:
When watching content hosted on my NAS via Kodi, I have the following behavior:
  • The video stops and returns to the mosaic or the video selection.
  • The video activates the pause mode alone.

This behavior happens mainly when I add a playlist but it can happen (more rarely) when I watch a video

How i can reproduce?
  • I add several videos, several hours (example, 6 hours of videos).
  • I leave the videos running.
  • After a random time, the video is stopped, or paused.

What information might help you diagnose this behavior?

Thanks by advance for your help,
LEFBE

Please note that "latest version" is not considered a version. Sometimes newcomers here think that Kodi 16 is the latest version, or we as Kodi consider the latest Kodi 18 Alpha 2 nightly our latest version. Smile
Always include a debug log (wiki) (via pastebin) in case of 'troubles', so we have all the basics ready in 1 go.

Regarding the random pauses, you may want to check into your installed apps. This is typically caused by an app running in the background launching a pop-up. I had the same issue a while back and in my case, the offender was ES File Explorer. This may be causing your random stops as well. Something to consider.
