Before I install the TV Tunes Script (Not the repository) - Jachin99 - 2018-07-25

I am heavy Windows Media Center & Emby user who is just trying out Kodi.  Up to this point I have been using the Emby for Media Center plugin to watch movies because it supports features like trailers, cast info, live backgrounds, and video intros among others.  Before moving to kodi, I want to retain as much of that functionality as possible, and for the most part I have been successful with one BIG exclusion.  I haven't found a way to incorporate my video backdrops into kodi.  As far as I can tell, my backdrops are legal, and I use the Movie Theme videos plugin from the official Emby addon repository to download these videos and store them in my media folders on my file share.  For my particular purpose, I am not looking for TV tunes to download anything but to the best of my knowledge, the only known way to get these video backdrops to play is with the titan skin and TV tunes.  If I install this script, and not the whole repository will I still get support on these forums for any other issues I might have.  If not, is there some alternative I can use.  I am using the Emby for Kodi addon to add all of my content, and I would like to keep things where Emby handles the metadata for my local files, and I use kodi to consume it.  I looked over the banned addons list, and didn't see the TV Tunes script on that but I see their repository is banned.  I don't plan to use this to get something for free that I would otherwise pay for because I already own these files and obtain them via legal means from another program.  Thanks.

The script was using full length media (the tunes) which it didn't have rights to access and use. So I'm not sure it will actually work without some modification and for media which is actually legal.

That script/addon wasn't the final reason why the repo was banned (and also its author), but it was the contributing factor that lead to the deeper investigation which turned up some stuff that was forbidden.

I don't know of any other version, due to the legality issue of the sound tracks.

I just did a quick check of some of the source code and I noticed comments about using specific blocks of code if emby themes exist. I'm hoping it works with my setup and that's all the script will use. I didn't notice anything about live urls but I haven't looked at everything g yet
