theTVDB scanning problem - rcrh - 2018-08-05

I have a series that won't scrap properly.  CNN's The 2000s.  It's in the thetvdb database (https://www.thetvdb.com/series/the-2000s) but the scanner won't pick it up.
I've tried creating an NFO for it but it still doesn't find the episodes.
If I create a tvshow.nfo am I locked in to creating nfo's for each episode?
Is there a trick to create an nfo with just enough info to point to the correct listing in thetvdb?
Thanks in advance.

Hello @rcrh

The series The 2000s is confusing the scraper as it is actually interpreting 2000 as the release year, in effect looking for The (2000)

Rename the show to The 2000s (2018) and it should work.

Yes, you can use a Parsing NFO... https://kodi.wiki/view/NFO_files#Parsing_nfo

But, ever since TheTVDB made those silly updates to their site, it is no longer as functional as it used to be. Parsing NFO's won't always work correctly and we still haven't found a way to fix that problem. It is more of a problem for the non-english language listings.

renaming the show worked perfectly.  Bit of a pain as new episodes come down but still better than creating nfo's for everything.
Thanks.
