Wrong IP address in kodi - redbellied - 2018-08-08
I have a tronsmort mxiii plus 1gb box on kodi 18 running libreelec. It gives me the wrong IP address under wired, it reads 169.254.112.XXX. If I set it manually it changes but fails to connect to internet, any ideas ?

Either your DHCP router is confused, or somehow you managed to get the same IP as another network device (same MAC address??) in your network.

Dhcp is good, it can connect to the wireless.

And if you disable one of the two (wired vs wireless), does it work properly?

Ya I tried disabling wireless but it will give the foreign IP when connected to wired.

That's the autoconfig ip address, meaning that the client can't reach the dhcp server. Try replacing cables, with another computer etc.

I will try that with a different cable. Here is some additional info, previously I was on kodi 16 libreelec on the same box and wired was OK on that.

Tried swapping out cables but to no avail, I have noticed it syncs the time but its 12 hours out.

You are getting an apipa (automatic private) address, so a lease is not being received/sent from the dhcp service. Since the wireless nic is getting a valid address something on the wired nic could be conflicting (check mac address and other settings on the dhcp server/router).
Did you discover anything interesting in dhcp log?
