Display subtitles from ISO image of a movie DVD - jvossler - 2018-11-06

I have not found a way to access the subtitles within an ISO image.

All the subtitle solutions I have found use the internet to download them in real time, this is not an option for me.

Our home and business are in a decidedly rural area, many miles to the nearest paved road. The highest speed internet we can get in advertised at 1.5 mbps down and 0.75 mbps up. The fastest I have ever measured is 1.2 mbps down and 0.5 mbps up. Some of the wireless or satellite solutions do not provide static IP address capability which are required for the business side. When the kids start using the internet for web browsing, cell phones, tablets etc. there is no bandwidth left for realtime downloading of subtitles. Besides why download something I already have.

So is there any way to display the ISO image subtitles in Kodi?

We have a substantial movie collection all in ISO format. If I burn the ISO to a DVD disc and play it all the subtitles are present.

I am currently running Kodi on raspbian stretch with latest updates.

Any comments, suggestions or ideas are welcome.
