If subtitles are inside a folder, they won't show up? - guerlando - 2018-11-12

I have subtitles inside a folder which is in the same folder as the movie, like this:

Movie_Name_1/movie.mp4
Movie_Name_1/Subs/subtitle_1.srt

Movie_Name_2/movie.mp4
Movie_Name_2/Subs/subtitle_1.srt

but kodi won't recognize these subtitles. I cannot take them out of the folder in an automated way. Is this supposed to be like this or is there a way to make the subtitles be recognized?

As shipped, Kodi looks for subtitles in the same folder as the video file. There is an option to specify a single location for all sub files but not what you want.

There may be a way in advanced settings to specify your requirement but it is beyond my knowledge.

I believe Kodi expects the name of the sub file to be same as movie file. Only extension may differ
