Kodi 18: video faster than audio? - chancenvergeber - 2019-02-13

Hi,

I have 2 identical computers running with Kodi. Both use a Intel J3455 with Windows 10 Home 64bit.

I have run Kodi 17.6 on both machines without problems since 17.6 was released.
I recently updated to Kodi 18.0 64bit on one of them and noticed that on a file with the following properties (read out by MediaInfo) the video was faster than the audio:

ID                                       : 2
Format                                 : AAC LC SBR
Format/Info                          : Advanced Audio Codec Low Complexity with Spectral Band Replication
Commercial name                  : HE-AAC
Format settings                      : NBC
Codec ID                               : A_AAC-5
Duration                                : 22 min 12 s
Bit rate                                  : 32.0 kb/s
Channel(s)                             : 2 channels
Channel layout                       : L R
Sampling rate                        : 48.0 kHz
Frame rate                            : 23.438 FPS (2048 SPF)
Compression mode                  : Lossy
Delay relative to video             : -105 ms
Stream size                           : 5.08 MiB (7%)
Title                                       : Stereo
Language                               : English
Default                                  : Yes
Forced                                   : No

With Kodi 17.6 everything is in sync. Does Kodi 18 handle video-files differently?
How can I fix this? Is there a specific setting or is this  abug?
Thanks.

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

I switched back to 17.6 because this behavior was unbearable for me.
I will reinstall 18.0 and replicate the problem on this weekend.

Since you removed Kodi 18, on windows platform you might consider installing Kodi 18 to a unique folder and run it in portable mode.  That way you can create a new video / movie source with just the folder containing one of the videos with sync problems and try with debug level logging enabled in settings.  Meanwhile your Kodi 17.6 is unaffected.

Anything helpful in the log?

Kodi 18.1 on my Android phone does the same...seems not to be windows-related.

RE: Kodi 18: video faster than audio? - chancenvergeber - 2019-03-13

Does anybody know what could cause this?
I used the same settings in Kodi 17.6 and 18.1, but the result is different...

RE: Kodi 18: video faster than audio? - chancenvergeber - 2019-07-07

Any idea how to fix this?
I tried 18.3, but nothing changed.

Certain video files are out of sync. And it does not matter, if I use Android or Windows.

Is ist possible that Kodi 18 ignores "delay relative to video"?
Could this explain my problem?

RE: Kodi 18: video faster than audio? - chancenvergeber - 2019-07-28

Player Debug Info shows "latency" next to VSyncOff.
How do I get rid of this?
