How to enable Windows network (smb) share on Kodi 18.1 - tony598 - 2019-02-24 Hello everybody, I made a lot of research to know how to install the smb addon, which are missing on the network location menu (only NFS is available). I cannot find how to enable this feature clearly. I want to have an access to my Nas server. I install kodi on my smart TV and it works correctly (smb sharing was already available). But on my Xbox it's not the case... For information :kodi 18.1 Git:20190217-8cfdc895f3. Could you please help me ? Thank you RE: How to enable Windows network (smb) share on Kodi 18.1 - Klojum - 2019-02-24 (2019-02-24, 15:54)tony598 Wrote: I want to have an access to my Nas server.Any decent NAS server will give access to its files via more than one file protocol. Personally I would suggest NFS, because I have been using is with XBMC & Kodi for years. Not only is it immensely stable and fast, but SMB has created a bit of a mess for itself lately. Kodi has built-in support for NFS as well, so why not try that? RE: How to enable Windows network (smb) share on Kodi 18.1 - tony598 - 2019-02-24 Thank you for your reply, I'm using freenas, I'm not against the fact to use NFS protocol but I share files thanks to Windows 10. Maybe I'm wrong but W10 doesn't handle NFS share protocol? I try to find a NFS client for W10 but it's not so easy... That's why I choose to use SMB. Thank you, Tony |
