Movie update store where? - rastarr - 2020-03-31 Hi, I manually add a new genre type to a number of movies so I can track them i.e. I add a Genre type of 'ThaiSubs' for movies I have with Thai subtitles. I usually do this via the web interface. Where is this new genre type stored? Is there any way of having Kodi write this into the movie.nfo file? Sadly I had to reimport my movies and, surprise surprise, the movies I had previously done this to no longer showed the info. Thanks for any help Martin RE: Movie update store where? - Karellen - 2020-03-31 @rastarr The genre, along with all movie information, is stored in the MyVideosxx database in your Userdata (wiki) folder. But in your case, I would not be using a genre. I would use a Tag. When you make changes to the information in your library using the Kodi GUI or the Web browser as you have done, none of this is written to any NFO file, it is all stored in the database. If you want this information saved into nfo files, then you need to run an Export of the library to Separate Files. See links in My Signature below for more info. I've never seen this feature Are tags written to the NFO file or is that the same issue I'm having with Genre? Just looking for an easy way to display movies with Thai subtitles after I add them to existing movies - will make my Thai girlfriend so happy lol RE: Movie update store where? - Karellen - 2020-03-31 Just to be clear, nothing ever gets written to an NFO File by Kodi unless you run the Export function. Tags are similar to Genre's, but instead of polluting your genre listing with things that are not genre, you can use a tag instead which is also stored in the database. Create your Tag as follows...
Once you have done that, you can then create a Smart Playlist and it looks something like this... Then if you are using a compatible skin, you can create the Smart Playlist as a Main Menu or Sub-Menu item |
