Viewing both files and folders in date order - mr-b - 2020-04-05

Hi

When using the Video Files menu to view my video library, I wish to sort the library in date order so I can easily see which are my latest additions. The files comprise a mixture of single files and files in folders.
However Kodi lists all the folders first and then all the files, so how can I obtain a unified date view? Strangley enough windows explorer lists all the files first then folders.
I've no idea if it makes a difference but my libraries are stored on Windows shares but I use both Windows Kodi and CoreElec to view them, and the issue is the same on both.

Using "Recently added Movies" misses out so many videos so that I've found that using plain old filenames is much more reliable (if not as pretty) but I can at least see at a glance which version it is.
I think flattening out all the sub-directories so the folder just contains files isn't going to work as many have filenames such as English.srt etc.

Any suggestions?
