Old tv episodes still show even after cleanup - michaeljc70 - 2020-04-29 I reorganized my video library to make my scans go faster. The library files are on a NAS shared by 3 Kodi installs. I attempted to copy the first database (MyVideoXX.db and TexturesXX.db ) to the other two after getting everything scanned and cleaned. It didn't work too well. The 2nd one I got working fine with manual library updates/cleans. The 3rd one has extra videos (under tv, movies are fine). I basically have 2k extra episodes showing. I have checked the sources (used same sources.xml from the other 2 installs). I have cleaned and updated the library like 10 times. I also installed a database cleanup add-on and tried that. Any advice? Can I do a total database reset somehow (delete the MyVideosXX.db file?) Cleaning something more than twice is not suddenly going to work 3-10 times later. It'll lessen the burden on the other Kodi clients to each download all thumbs from the Interwebs on their own. I'm just not sure where things are going wrong yet. if one of your 3 Kodi setups is working properly, I'd do a Video Library Export from that one first, just to get all the metadata backed up. These nfo files will also ensure a much faster rescraping into a new/clean database. On a side note, isn't using a centralized SQL a more useful option for your situation? If I export the nfo files, and have the source set to use TheTVDB will it use the NFOs? Or do I need to set it to use local only? If I set it to local only and I switch that back to use the TVDB will it go to the internet for everything or only new additions? I don't really want to maintain a centralized SQL install. I don't really have anywhere to put it that is always on. I use Trakt and that keeps my watched statuses all in sync across devices. RE: Old tv episodes still show even after cleanup - michaeljc70 - 2020-04-30 Something is seriously jacked up. I deleted the video db file and thumbnails directory and did a clean/update and it was still wrong. I removed all video sources and did a clean and it still shows 3821 episodes. They point to the old directory that is no longer a source. I rebooted in between too. Short of a new install, I'm not sure what else to do. Edit: The one I copied from was .1 version newer than the one I copied too. Could be the problem. I updated the 2nd one and am refreshing. It seems to be working. Source paths are in the database for the library, so if they are still coming back, then the same database is there. Did you exit Kodi before you deleted the files? Try again and also delete the Sources.xml file in your Userdata (wiki) folder as well as the Texturesxx.db file. Probably too late now, but did you first export your library to nfo files as klojum suggested? I could still do it from the other box. Not a big deal if it takes 6 hours to rescan and download metadata. If I export do I just import from settings? Or select use local info in the source? I am not sure how that all interacts. Does it hit the internet if I tell it to use TheTVDb and there are NFOs? If it takes 6 hours to scrape your library, then it is pretty large library and you are making a massive demand on those free services. It will export your library to nfo files along side each video file in your library. You have the option of exporting artwork also, but don't do this if you already have local artwork. When you come to rebuild the library again, just run your usual Update Library. Nothing special needs to be set or changed. Kodi will see the nfo files and scan them instead of using the scraper. The scan is actually more like 2 hours (900 movies/4k episodes) now that I see the progress of it, but I see your point and will do an export. It will be handy if anything goes wrong with my library in the future also. Don't be scared of it, as so many users are for some reason. I run the export every couple of weeks so that it captures any changes I have made to the library, like play counts, watched status, editing metadata, etc. This might be of use to you if you need to edit the data of your library... https://kodi.tv/addon/scripts/metadata-editor |
