Settings master lock - is this correct behaviour? - extremeaudio - 2020-06-09

I have set master lock enabling only addons and advanced settings and nothing else. But i get the password prompt even when I try to add/ remove video sources, add / remove file manager sources etc. This is not desirable. Any way to change this?

It's okay to edit your own posts in case of a type errors or other mishaps.
No need to create a full new thread. ;-)
I removed your other thread.

Oh, apologies. Didn't realize that happened. I perfectly understand posting etiquette. I felt like i hit enter halfway through my post but didn't bother to check because i was still left with an open compose window. Double post was completely unintentional! Thanks for cleaning it up.

I agree that adding a video shouldn't ask for the password if you a settings-section locked. Maybe it has something to do the settings you can set during adding sources (scraper and such). Maybe @ronie can give some insights if that can be changed skin-wise.

nope, locking is handled by kodi.
i suppose it's expected behavior... setting a mater lock code will protect certain actions in kodi.

I think this is an error in functionality and ideally should be corrected. One should be able to pick the items to lock better in order to use this feature in Kodi.

Try the following (I'm on Coreelec 9.2.3, Kodi Leia)

1. Turn on Master Lock
2. Set 4 digit numeric passcode.
3. Do not turn on any of the other options below in this passcode section (the number of items protected will thus be bare minimum? correct?)
4. Go to any movie folder and bring up context menu and set content.
5. Nothing will be scanned to library and upon querying "Scan to library " it will say no video files found in this location.

Log is attached. https://paste.kodi.tv/tilegejose

EDIT: Forgot to add that this 'scan item to library' or 'set content' works for music. Only wont work for movies and tv shows.
