Whitelisting 720p looks worse on 4k tv - snyft - 2020-08-19 Have something changed or am I missing something? I read best playback is enabling 23,24 and 50hz for all available resolutions and use 1080p for Kodi gui to trigger TV upscale. When I watch 720p it looks very bad with lots of noise, colors look weird/washed out, same with osd, maybe it looks sharper than using 4k and disabling 720p 24hz but the overall quality is definitely worse. My TV says it is 720p does that mean the TV dosent upscale it? Am I missing some setting on my TV or something? I thought whitelisting was for making sure the TV upscale and not kodi making it look better in most cases. Maybe Windows and lanczos 3 is just better than my TV. Leaving it blank looks fine though and switches automatically to 24hz. |
