Local image files address in nfo files - linesma - 2020-11-01

I am trying to "step up my game" when it comes to me nfo files. For most of the media I have, I use a local image file for the artwork. I have read through the nfo section of the wiki, and it only discusses how to add images from url's. The images are located in the same folder as the video. Is there a way to add the location to the images to the nfo file in a "universal manner"? This way, if I move the media from one hard drive to another, the nfo file does not need to be re-edited.

Thanks!

There is no need to do this. If your artwork images are saved with the correct name and in the correct location, Kodi will find them. Links to local artwork are not required in the nfo file.

Any links in the nfo file are considered a backup in the event your local artwork is missing or corrupted.

The link you gave me lead me to the Artwork Types page on the wiki. It provided me with the information I was missing. It seems that I was not naming the files correctly. For example, I had named the poster I was using for "Season 1" of a video series as season1.jpg instead of season01-poster.jpg. Renamed the files, and it worked perfectly.

Thank you very much!
