SQL Database unable to play files - TWolf888 - 2021-04-22 Hi all, I've recently installed and started using a SQL database with Kodi, everything seemed to go well in regards to setting it up. I have copied the advancedsettings.xml file to another Kodi client/computer, and upon starting Kodi can see the entire database of films & TV shows and music listed and everything syncs between databases (in progress movies etc) - but there is no cover art for any of them (except in sets) and I'm unable to actually play the files. Either "playback failed" or "the file is no longer available and would I like to remove it" pops up. I've managed to add the exact same files (films, tv shows) using videos -> files -> add videos -> browse -> add network location ----------- and this is working fine (cover art showing and they all play with no problems). So I'm assuming that the files have been shared correctly on the main computer (where the SQL database is also set up), plus I now have passwords.xml with the necessary info in the Kodi userdata folder. Unfortunately I'm unable to post the logs as away from home for the moment. However if anyone has any help or advice please it would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance. RE: SQL Database unable to play files - Klojum - 2021-04-22 For starters, a database does not play videos. At all. It merely stores the metadata and the paths to your video files. If one Kodi client can play the videos, and the other one cannot, then something is wrong with the path to the video files. Start with providing Kodi's debug log (wiki) via a pastebin service, so we can see some details. |
