Use multiple tuner cards - fossdd - 2021-08-28
Hey dear Kodi members and users,
i've been a really huge fan of Kodi.
One question that I have is, if i'm able to use multiple tuner cards?
For example one for viewing over Kodi, and two others for viewing over the web interface.
Some vuplus.com receivers have multiple tuners available.

Sure, that's possible.
The most common option is HDHomerun.

HDHomerun looks much proprietary. And I want to use pure Kodi with Kodi's Web interfaces.

It's (one of) the way(s) i use it.
I just have a backend (now tvheadend) control the tuners. Works great.
Oh, and you are right, they are marketing their own stuff with it, but you can without all of that and still be able to record locally etc.
