Missing Media Flags - Dumyat - 2021-10-24 @emveepee Hi Martin, You may remember (or maybe not) that some time ago I mentioned that the media flag for the number of audio channels was not appearing when playing channels. I didn't really pursue the issue at the time, as it wasn't a huge deal and also thought it might have been related to the channel streams I was using from my VU+ device as a IPTV configuration with NextPVR. However, I recently purchased a Hauppauge USB tuner that was on sale and noticed the same thing occurs with the channels picked by this tuner device, so that might suggest it wasn't just the original stream channels that were effected by this. Also, another oddity I spotted today when playing radio channels (streamed file and tuner device) was that when I have the Live TV method set to 'Real Time' the audio bit rate flag is displayed, but if I switch to Timeshift mode this flag is no longer displayed. Neither particularly bother me personally, but thought I would mention it in case you or 'Sub' did want to investigate the matter? That being the case, let me know and I can easily provide logs over on the NextPVR forum. RE: Missing Media Flags - emveepee - 2021-10-25 The backend doesn't stream any technical data on the stream so any issues look to be skin related, I don't even know if there are an API that would do what you say. I just looked and I see 2.0 and 5:1 do show on the Estuary skin and match what I see with the O and Ctrl-Shift O Martin RE: Missing Media Flags - Dumyat - 2021-10-25 Fair enough. I will add support for a fallback to show a '?' for these empty returns rather having 2 gaps on the OSD. RE: Missing Media Flags - emveepee - 2021-10-25 I just checked again and on AAC audio I don't see the number of channels displayed either. Martin RE: Missing Media Flags - Dumyat - 2021-10-25 I can't swear to it, but I'm pretty sure when I played radio channels direct from the VU+ and using the VU+ client, it shows the number audio channels. Live TV channels def show this info. But my guide data on that device has nothing for radio channels, hence trying another solution with NextPVR and SD guide data, which does include radio channels. Like I said, I'm not overly bothered, particularly with the radio channels as I don't play radio stations that frequently I must admit. Will check again with the VU+ tmrw. RE: Missing Media Flags - Dumyat - 2021-10-25 Okay, so I just checked a few of my current channels in NextPVR. First 3 were all HD 1080 and showed no info for number of audio channels, but then the next 3 I tried were SD and they all showed 2 channels. Was about to make a quick assumption that perhaps HD channels were the problem, but then I played further 4 channels all in SD, but no info on these either. I'll check how they get presented using the VU+ tmrw. RE: Missing Media Flags - emveepee - 2021-10-25 Perhaps your "good" SD channels are mpeg2audio which would be quite common and your 'missing" channels are AAC or HE-AAC. Anything you stream to NextPVR via IPTV will be transcoded to AAC if it is not AAC already. Again none of this has anything to do with NextPVR. Martin RE: Missing Media Flags - Dumyat - 2021-10-25 Ah yes, you could very well be right in what you say. In that case, I'm not going to spend any more time on it. Will handle things as previously indicated on post #3. Will mark thread as solved. Thanks |
