Kodi on a nas NFS problem - stapper56 - 2021-11-02

Hello,

I had Kodi running on my NAS working like a charm.
Central database on the NAS.
Through an advancedsettings.xml and a source.xml
The share was reached through NFS.

Everything was ok.

Then I bought a second router Synology RT2600ac, The modem is in a bridge.
Everything is working fine, except..... Kodi...
I see the thumbnails... so the connection to the database is there I think.
But when I want to play the movie... forget it...
When I start kodi it starts to scan, but..that does not work...
 I think for some reason it can't connect to the NFS share..

I did not change a thing... except modem in bridge and a second router behind it.

Can't figure out what the problem is, anyone any Ideas?

I’m using same Synology router with two Synology NAS and two Kodi NUCs (LibreElec) via NFS.

I had a similar problem when I cloned the 2nd NUC and my solution was to actually remove the ‘sources’ in Kodi and re-add and scan my library again.

This was around same time I changed my NAS IP addresses. I also have a 10GBE switch between NASs and NUCs so maybe that introduced the issue. I don’t know…

Hello @HomerJau

Well no luck here....
I removed the sources... But kodi is slow.. each klick I do to make the connection again, is about 30 seconds..
After that scanning same problem.

I think I will deinstall Kodi from my pc... maybe that one works.

Question: I made reservations for the IP's of my devices in the router..the router found all the devices and then You can clone them so they are fixed in the router and will not change again in case of a restart. It found my tv, pc and so on... But it did not find kodi.. Could that be the problem in your opinion?

We prefer to see the full debug log (wiki) of Kodi, instead of mesmerizing what it all could be.

"Clone", as in fixating the IP address in DHCP? Then I guess something went may have gone wrong there.
Also, 30 seconds kinda sounds like a timeout.

@Klojum

Hello again.. and thanks for the help.

First my setup: I had a modem, and one port led to a switch on those where my tv and nas... Everything was working fine.
Then I put the modem in bridge and placed the synology router.... again from there one one port to that switch with the tv and nas.
Still learning the new router, but everything seems to work fine except.....kodi

About the DHCP... I saw in the router that it had my devices and then you can copy that to fix the IP numbers so I did.
It saw all my connected devices but not my 2 kodi's ( one is on my pc, the other on my android tv)
(Sorry English is not my native language)

The log I have made, was made on the kodi on my pc

Ah one more thing...

The problem is.. kodi starts scanning... and you see it trying to do that, but it can't come any further it doe not see the files.

DatabaseUtils::GetSortFieldList: unknown field 36
Are you sure you have your scraper(s) uptodate?

RE: Kodi on a nas NFS problem - stapper56 - 2021-11-08

@Klojum

I don't know, can i update them myself?

What are my best options?
Export database in the webserver, rename, and delete  kodi?
Get the latest one... then import in the new made databases

Place the source and advancedsettings.xml in the correct folders and it should be working?

Add-ons are auto-updated by default in Kodi, unless you change that setting.

Addon 'metadata.themoviedb.org.python' already present with version 1.3.1+matrix.1 at 'C:\Program Files\Kodi\addons\metadata.themoviedb.org.python\' replaced with version 1.3.1+matrix.1 at 'C:\Program Files\Kodi\addons\metadata.themoviedb.org.python\'
I have version "1,5.1+matrix" at the moment for the python scraper.

But late with the answer from me, I gave up on it.
Yesterday I tried again... It was a wrong user setting on the NFS share in synology...

Thought maybe late then never it works Smile
