Xbmc crash when starting it - Flappz - 2008-09-05 Hi Everyone; I have been using XBMC for years on the Xbox but tonight I installed it on my XP SP3 machine... As soon as a window opens, it crashes before it will display anything. I cannot figure out what the deal is, the crash report will not give me anything useful. Anyone? Phil - jmarshall - 2008-09-05 Check the debug log. It's usually due to crappy GL drivers. - Flappz - 2008-09-05 Hey; Im new to the M$ version, Where is the Debug log and how do I fix this? Im a PC geek since 1994 but this is a new piece of software for me. Sorry This is what I get... - Flappz - 2008-09-05 This is what I get... <quote> 21:51:55 T:3856 M:725798912 NOTICE: Getting hardware information now... 21:51:55 T:3856 M:725798912 INFO: Using analog output 21:51:55 T:3856 M:725798912 INFO: AC3 pass through is enabled 21:51:55 T:3856 M:725798912 INFO: DTS pass through is enabled 21:51:55 T:3856 M:725798912 NOTICE: Checking resolution 10 21:51:55 T:3856 M:725798912 NOTICE: Setting autoresolution mode 3 21:51:55 T:3856 M:725807104 NOTICE: C:\Documents and Settings\Philip\Application Data\XBMC\UserData\sources.xml 21:51:55 T:3856 M:725692416 INFO: Checking skinpath existence, and existence of keymap.xml:Q:\skin... 21:51:55 T:3856 M:725684224 DEBUG: Constructing surface 720x480, shared=00000000, fullscreen=1 21:51:56 T:3856 M:740667392 INFO: GL_VENDOR = Microsoft Corporation 21:51:56 T:3856 M:740667392 INFO: GL_RENDERER = GDI Generic 21:51:56 T:3856 M:740667392 INFO: GL_VERSION = 1.1.0 21:51:56 T:3856 M:740667392 INFO: GL_EXTENSIONS = GL_WIN_swap_hint GL_EXT_bgra GL_EXT_paletted_texture 21:51:56 T:3856 M:740499456 INFO: load language info file: C:\Program Files\XBMC\language\English\langinfo.xml 21:51:56 T:3856 M:740495360 INFO: load keyboard layout configuration info file: C:\Program Files\XBMC\language\English\keyboardmap.xml 21:51:56 T:3856 M:740495360 INFO: unable to load C:\Program Files\XBMC\language\English\keyboardmap.xml: Failed to open file at line 0 </quote> - jmarshall - 2008-09-05 Yep - due to crappy GL drivers. GL v 1.1 isn't enough. You'll need to update your graphics drivers. - Flappz - 2008-09-05 JMARSHALL I will work on that... I figured it was something else seing that the KB is what failed. Wheres the best place for the drivers? NVidia.com? - Flappz - 2008-09-05 Hey Yo I Got it. Now I have to just get it in Full Screen Alt+Enter doesnt work, cmon XBMC Team Im a DOS Nerd LATE Phil PS. Keep This shit up, you guys are making great stuff, expect to be bugged by me in the future - WinterMuteAu - 2008-09-05 Flappz: press the \ key to change to full screen, but best bet is in settings to change screen & video player to your fullscreen resolution. That'll get around any silliness from the video player playing in a different res to your screen - Calmiche - 2008-09-05 Flappz Wrote:Now I have to just get it in Full Screen Create a shortcut and add "-fs -p" after the target. Mine is: "C:\Program Files\XBMC\XBMC.exe" -fs -p Second, take a look inside XBMC under "Settings>Appearence>Screen>Resolution" Change it to your resolution, and there should be a "Full screen" option - fanclub - 2008-09-05 i can understand a gui nerd having issues with dos commands, but a dos nerd having issues with a gui?!? LOL - Flappz - 2008-09-05 cmon now, im 25 but my first PC was a 80286 w/ DOS 5.0 and Win 3.0 I like commands from time to time, plus im used to XBMC on the XBOX so thats the big difference. - Gamester17 - 2008-09-05 Flappz Wrote:JMARSHALLYes if nvidia is the graphic controller hardware that you have, ...what hardware do you have? - davidw89 - 2008-09-07 It keeps crashing after i close it in Windows Vista as well (SP1). Very annoying! It's because resolution in XBMC is a lot higher than the one i set in windows, and when it defaults down it crashes. - Gorgar - 2008-09-12 I get the same problem wíth another error. It works fine when I set up the machine at 1680*1050 but when I connect it to my projector I get the following error when trying to set either 720p 16:9 or 1280*720 (full screen) Code: 23:15:44 T:696 M:817876992 DEBUG: Constructing surface 1280x720, shared=00000000, fullscreen=1 Anyone got any idea on what could be wrong? |
