Kodi 20 tvOS won't start - tabm0de - 2022-04-02

Just wanted to try out Kodi 20, but each time I installed it won't start and just jump back to main screen, I have signed the application right, I have no problems when reinstalling Kodi 19. om running tvOS 15.4

in Xcode: menu - Window - Devices and Simulators - select your ATV (pair it first if not done yet) - select Kodi app in the list - press the button to the right of + - buttons (icon is cog wheel or three dots depending on Xcode version) - Download Container - in the downloaded package you'll find log files.

Thanks, I did download that before but did not find the log file in it, the only files I can find are 2 x *.ktx and Kodi.dyld4 and two plist files.sa

in Xcode: menu - Window - Devices and Simulators - select your ATV (pair it first if not done yet) - select Kodi app in the list - press the button to the right of + - buttons (icon is cog wheel or three dots depending on Xcode version) - Download Container - in the downloaded package you'll find log files.
Thanks, I did download that before but did not find the log file in it, the only files I can find are 2 x *.ktx and Kodi.dyld4 and two plist files.sa

seems the crash happens too fast.

please try the following:
  1. enable debug logging using advancedsettings.xml (see instructions in the wiki)
  2. open Device Console from the Devices and Simulators window (or from Console app directly by selecting your ATV)
  3. enter process:Kodi in the filter field
  4. launch Kodi app
this way you should see the logs.

@Fuzzard any idea what's with v20 for tvOS? could you also remind how to customise advanced settings in tvOS?

Travelling for another week or two, so not near an ATV. Nothing's really changed in v20 compared to 19, so I would expect things to work the same.

no worries, I will also try another of my Apple TV's to day to se if that works better, who know might be just that one Wink
