Windows or Linux - HDR - Krobar - 2022-04-16 Hi Everyone I'm finally changing out my 3D TV for a new one and that was my main reason for using Windows. My setup uses a virtual machine to pass through Intel UHD630 graphics so I can change OS fairly easily. Does Linux/Openelec support HDR10? Are there any general recommendations on which might be better for a 4K HDR setup? RE: Windows or Linux - HDR - Klojum - 2022-04-16 OpenELEC is very much a thing of the past. The current LibreELEC 10.0.2 has offerings for HDR output (HDR10 and HLG) for the RPi4. I'm not sure how far official Generic (Intel) builds are, but there were also community-driven HDR builds. You can always testdrive LibreELEC on a usb stick if necessary. It may also depend on the HDR support by your motherboard/UHD630 setup. For example, some cheaper (Celeron) setups have no proper HDMI port but use a LSCON adapter via Displayport. I can see there is a Librelec 11.0 beta with Intel HDR support, my setup has an LSPCON HDMI 2.0 output and I'm not certain if HDR with LSPCON is supported in Linux yet so I think I will just have to give it a try. |
