CEC - turn TV off and on - Segfault - 2022-06-14 CEC works, I can use TV remote to command Kodi. I use Flirc adapter to control Kodi directly. I'd like to turn the TV on when I wake up Kodi from screensaver. And I can't figure out how. Is it even possible? To turn TV off when Kodi suspends Monitor? And turn the TV on when I hit a button on Kodi remote? This is the output from xset when in sleep: Code: DPMS (Energy Star): Edit: The problem solved itself. Very mysterious. In the middle of watching a movie a message appeared on the screen, from Kodi. Announcing a CEC adapter is found. After a minute or so the same message appeared again. Note, there was already one such message when Kodi started. Anyhow, now the TV is turned on when I hit a button on my remote. RE: CEC - turn TV off and on - Atreyu - 2022-06-14 Have you tried the screensaver 'Turn Off' ? It makes use of CEC to cut off the HDMI signal. Works quite well here, might work for you.. RE: CEC - turn TV off and on - Segfault - 2022-06-14 Yes, this is the active setting right now. What settings you have under System > Power Saving ? Strangely enough, when I activate "Devices to power on during startup - TV" then sending SIGHUP to Kodi [via SSH login] turns TV on. So the functionality is there, Kodi can turn on the TV if it wants ... It just seems my Kodi does not want to do it the way I want. RE: CEC - turn TV off and on - Segfault - 2022-06-16 I think I have to conclude this is a bug in Kodi. My Kodi is built from source and there may be a combination of build-time options which result in this malfunction. I wonder how to troubleshoot. There is nothing interesting in kernel log. |
