Split video items and varying resolution - Boulder - 2022-07-26 I have a couple of music video DVDs which I would like to re-encode for easier playback (the DVD menus are just so cumbersome). As the DVDs contain both 4:3 and 16:9 AR clips, is it possible to combine them as one item or does the feature require exactly the same resolution for all files? Combining multiple videos with different resolutions would require a tricky re-encoding of those videos during the concatenation. Not sure if that's what you want. I suppose I just need to re-encode the widescreen ones with fixed black borders.(2022-07-26, 14:58)Boulder Wrote: is it possible to combine them as one item RE: Split video items and varying resolution - sarbes - 2022-07-27 You want a resolution change mid-stream? I think Kodi might support that already, as TS streams might change resolution/aspect. Maybe make a test video with a suitable container. RE: Split video items and varying resolution - scott967 - 2022-07-28 I would also consider extracting to separate files and stacking them in Kodi. scott s. . That was my initial idea - is it possible to do it without making all the files the same resolution or can I just process them separately and stack them with naming? I'm sure there might also be a change of framerate (interlaced or progressive source), though not mixed PAL/NTSC of course. RE: Split video items and varying resolution - scott967 - 2022-07-30 I don't think moving from one to the next will be seamless at all, and trying to skip back and forward might cause trouble, but it would have a single library entry / act as one media item. But I haven't tried with radically different video parameters, maybe do a couple files and experiment. scott s. . |
