I can't change a XML file - Mathieuseetech - 2022-08-05 Hello everybody, (Sorry for my english) Previously I asked in the forum this: "every time a new trailer played, it would display what the file was every time for a few seconds before disappearing." (https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=350126) People showed me the code line that I had to change to resolve it . So I downloaded the DialogSeekBar.xml file and changed the code line. So I've tryied to paste it in /usr/share/kodi/addons/skin.estuary/xml/ (his normal emplacement) but it deosn't work... it says "cannot overwrite remote file" What should I make ? RE: I can't change a XML file - Klojum - 2022-08-05 If you want to fiddle with skins, it's best to make a complete copy of that skin's folder, and copy it as a new, renamed skin into your userdata/ folder. Also alter the contents of the addon.xml file contents in the skin's folder, to reflect the new name of the skin internally. Once that is all done properly, you can (re)start Kodi, and you should be able to select your new skin. Now you can alter/edit all you want. Just make timely backups before you start screwing up and Kodi won't properly start/work anymore. Creating the skin copy is also necessary, because with every Kodi update (not many but still), all Kodi system files including Estuary skin files, will be overwritten. So any changes you make in those files will simply vanish. |
