Kicking myself for uninstalling Kodi - Fuzzy123 - 2022-08-06 I was clearing the cache and accidentally uninstalled Kodi instead. Since it took me about a year to fiddle with it and link all my favourite movies, shows, settings, add-ons, etc, I would love to try and get back the data. I didn't delete the data itself, so can I restore it from somewhere on my firestick? Then you can reinstall the program and your library should be intact. Thanks for your reply. I uninstalled Kodi from the "manage install applications" menu. I meant to clear the cache instead. Then I reinstalled Kodi and everything was gone. I had a poke around the internet on how to find the data folder but I'm unable to work out where the folder is or how to restore it. I tried downloading ES folder directory but it's a paid version now. I had a look at the link you sent... But still can't figure it out. The Firestick uses a flavour of Android, so you would need to check the Android Kodi data folder path (from that wiki page table) to see if it is still there. If you have reinstalled Kodi and it is empty, then it sounds like that the Kodi data folder was also removed. Unless you have a backup, I doubt anything can be done to recover it. It's free with no-ads. Thanks very much I'll give that a go. RE: Kicking myself for uninstalling Kodi - Fuzzy123 - 2022-08-07 I can see the data folder in there now, thanks to Klojum. The question now is how do I put this folder back where it belongs. I wouldn't have any trouble doing all this on a PC. PC's I know. The firestick I really don't. There's no mouse/keyboard. There's no command window. There's no system I am familiar with. Can I attach an image to this comment/thread of what I can see? Its done automatically during uninstallation, unless the user had moved the userdata folder to a different location from the default. Since the you have re-installed Kodi, it has created a new folder which is blank. The old one is gone, unless you had a backup . Appreciate the help from everyone anyway. RE: Kicking myself for uninstalling Kodi - Hitcher - 2022-08-08 In future I suggest you install the Backup addon. |
