Thumbnails - Caithness - 2022-08-15

Runnning LibreElec nightly from 12/08/2022 on an RPi4. Sources are set to use local information only and each video is accompanies with a .jpg and a .nfo

I turned off the options for extracting thumbnails from video files before I defined sources and loaded the videos. However, thumbnails have been created (several thousand of them). I'm using a 128GB SSD for Kodi and its files and a separate 6TB HDD for videos so I'm not to concerned about space but I'd like to turn them off if possible.

Where have they been created?

That is Kodi's artwork cache. You cannot disable this.
Any artwork you add to Kodi is cached here. If you have added movies and tv shows into your library, the artwork is cached here.

But, just to mention it, you are able to substitute them to a location with more space.

See: https://kodi.wiki/view/Path_substitution

But turning it off, is indeed not possible.
