Help getting m3u8 file to work for playing movies - parabellum - 2022-12-22
Greetings, allow me to describe the problem I'm facing.
my workflow is :
1- Create strm file with plugin syntax to call my own addon, something along the lines of 'plugin:plugin..*' goes into the file
2- File is added to kodi's library and I can play it from there
caveat:
I can't resume the movie because resume is broken for kodi 19
what I need:
alternative file format that can call the addon using plugin syntax, and is able to resume the movie for catching up later on

https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/21830 should mean strm resume fixed in Kodi 20.
There was a backport PR for Matrix here
https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/21848
But seems it wasn't accepted. Kodi quite strict on what can be backported.
Id suggest you just update to Kodi 20

I would update to v20 but I can't install the pvr client on any of my machines, the repo just doesn't provide it
