Movies not visible in movie collection - BuzzDoet - 2022-12-26

Hi,

I've been using Kodi for years to my complete satisfaction. I have linked Kodi to a MariaDB database and can therefore use Kodi throughout the house and only have to scan movies once to have them available everywhere, great!
By using Tvheadend I can also watch live TV throughout the house, watch recorded programs and set new recordings.
Especially the fact that Kodi keeps track of where you left off for movies but also for TV programs (if you stop watching in the meantime) is very useful.

What I don't understand is that not all movies from my movie collection end up in the database (and are thus not visible in the movie collection on screen).
An Add-on exists that can show all movies that are not visible in the movie collection on screen. This Add-on can also play the missing movies.

My question is the following:
The Add-on proves that the information about the missing movies can be found within Kodi, so why isn't this technique used when scanning my movie collection so that all movies end up in the database and the Add-on is no longer needed?

Regards, Emiel

We can't understand either because we cannot see what is happening on your system so you would need to provide some concrete diagnostic information or anything anybody says will just be pure speculation. The best way to provide this information is with a Debug Log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum
