Video playback crashes after a few minutes - carlwright99877 - 2023-02-21 Hi, I’ve been going crazy with this, wonder if anyone has any pointers. I’ve done a fresh install of kodi onto a new 4k firestick. Nothing else installed. I’ve reconfigured to remove hardware acceleration as I’ve seen suggested. Internet’s running nice and fast and no other streams are a problem. Although playback stutters and jumps around and after a few minutes just crashes out. Is there anything else anyone can suggest I look at? Thanks for your support. Providing Kodi's debug log (wiki) would be a good start. RE: Video playback crashes after a few minutes - Dangelus - 2023-02-22 @carlwright99877 Have a think about what you are asking. Your device and your Kodi installation is in front of you, nobody else can see or access it to have a clue what is happening. You need to provide specific information (ideally the Debug Log that Klojum has requested as this is a shortcut to seeing what is happening on your system) to explain to anyone wishing to help you what you are doing. For example, Kodi does not provide any media / content out of the box. You have to tell it what to play and where from so logically it would be useful to tell us what you are playing and where from if you want assistance. Is it a local file? Are you streaming media from an addon? The information you have supplied is the equivalent of going to the hospital and telling the doctor that your stomach hurts after you went shopping and made a meal but not telling them what you ate. As a side note, as you are new, please make sure you have reviewed the Forum Rules and especially the section on Banned Add-ons (wiki). Many newbies come here for help because they assume Kodi is all about those piracy addons they all hear about. It is not, that is an unfortunate side effect of our open system (people can make addons for anything they like) but here we do not allow the discussion or support of such addons. If it is one of those dodgy addons that is giving you trouble then unfortunately for you it means you would need to seek support elsewhere. If it is a legit source then we look forward to you providing more information to allow us to help you. RE: Video playback crashes after a few minutes - ThisAintBJ - 2023-02-25 Hello everybody, I am an employee of eero, the Amazon router. And I was working with someone today who was experience a similar issue. I am doing my dudiligence to see what could be going on with his Kodi application using a firestick. So what has been occurring is after EXACTLY 2 minutes of streaming something on Kodi, stream will freeze and then kick him out to the menu. All other applications on all other devices are streaming just fine. This was not happening until he switched over the eero router. It was working with his Ubee (Model: ubc1322). Topology: Ubee MRC <> Gateway eero router )) 2 other eero extenders What we have tried: 1. Made sure no VPN is enabled and turned off any additional advanced security options on the eero router 2. Changed DNS Settings 1. 8.8.8.8 2. 1.1.1.1 &. 3. ISP's Default IP Address (Do not have now) 3. Bridging the eero network Reading [link to piracy related tutorial removed by moderator] , tried these following steps: 1. Made sure your real debrid is up-to-date. 2. Re authorize account on the app/apk 3. Deleted devices in real-debrids website and re add them Again I am just the messenger and do not have access to the logs. But would be more than happy to reach out to the client and retrieve them if he is has the know how to do so. I apprechiate everyone's help in advance. Thanks RE: Video playback crashes after a few minutes - Karellen - 2023-02-25 Hello @ThisAintBJ I understand you are the messenger and trying to help out a user of your Amazon router. We would like to help, but it sounds like your client has a setup that would be banned from this forum. We have a strong stance against piracy and we have an incomplete list of Banned Add-ons (wiki) that are banned from this forum RealDebrid being one of them. Also, we do not provide assistance when a VPN is in use. We don't want the added complexity of troubleshooting when there is another layer of interference. Lets start off by getting logs from your client. Instructions are here... Debug Log The log must capture the problem, without the use of a VPN. But just be aware that if the logs show evidence of a typical piracy setup, we cannot provide support. But, full points for going the extra step to help out. ![]() RE: Video playback crashes after a few minutes - carlwright99877 - 2023-02-26 Thanks for your input, it's proved helpful and I think I have worked out the problem. We've been trying to port an android app with video playback and have encountered more differences in the underlying calls than we anticipated. |
