This file is no longer available (notification) - Vuurvreter - 2023-04-01

Dear all,
I have the following problem and it has been playing for a while and I can't get it fixed.
I stream on my Sony Bravia TV with Kodi the movies and series that are on the NAS.
Also from the Shield Pro, I get the same error message.
For quite a few movies, I get the following error message.

"This file is no longer available. Please delete it from the library."

The movies are still on the NAS and have not been deleted, but they won't play in Kodi.
I have already deleted and re-added the library several times, and as shown in the list, the titles are recorded, but the movies are not playable.
I have also been busy with the (correct) naming, also without the desired result.
I am now running on Kodi 20.1, but this was also playing with previous versions of Kodi.

Who can help me get started so I can see my movies again.
It seems that the problem is only with movies, however, a large number of movies I can watch, so please shoot me.

P.S.

For the pictures, see the images in the Dutch forum, where I also asked the question but got no response.

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

They shoot horses don't they?

Hitcher suggested a proper debug log, and I would second that. Can you see the 'not found' films in file mode (that would be the video button) and play them?

Kodi never actively instructs a user to delete a file. The user is always given the option to remove a file from the library.

I hope this works?

I can see the folder, as in the posted image, but playback fails.

Code:
unable to stat url smb://DISKSTATION/video/Film/...

Always use IP addresses. Possibly your Kodi device cannot find the network device called 'DISKSTATION' anymore?

[font][font]Gebruik altijd IP-adressen. [/font][font]Mogelijk kan uw Kodi-apparaat het netwerkapparaat genaamd 'DISKSTATION' niet meer vinden?[/font][/font]

Why is one film found and not the other?

RE: This file is no longer available (notification) - Klojum - 2023-04-01

AFAICT, every "smb://DISKSTATION/video/" line in the log file has the "unable to stat url" before. Meaning the video cannot be accessed.
Where in your log file are videos found and played?

RE: This file is no longer available (notification) - Vuurvreter - 2023-04-01

After changing "Diskstation" to an IP address, my library was synchronized again and my movies are now in it 3 times.

One of the movies that was "unavailable" I can now play again, so this does seem to be the solution.

Tomorrow let's get the duplicate listing out.

I'm getting the same problem but my storage is a HDD connected to USB port, not a NAS with an ip address.
I also have  a Sony Bravia TV running the latest Kodi 20.2 downloaded from the Play Store
I think it started with with the update from 20.1 as it had been fine before.
The problem is intermittent as sometimes it plays a file without the message that it is not available.
It might  happen when I  detach the HDD to add files but it could also be due to my adding a powered USB hub to run two HDD's. one containing Movies and the other TV shows. I was running out of space on one drive and thought this might be a better option.
Will remove the powered USB hub and see if it fixes the problem.
Hope this helps anyone with a similar problem.

Having tried various things, one being to delete the library and start again, not recommended.
If I unplug the HDD from the powered USB and plug it into the USB port on the Sony TV, it is not necessarily going to work through the library.
It will work going via files and HDD. This works regardless of which I use, powered USB or TV USB.
To get access to the library after I have the error message that the file is no longer available, the only thing that seems to work is to reboot the TV.
I then have access to the library, either through the powered USB or TV USB.
Not sure what causes the error message but it could be when I detach the HDD to transfer files.
Rebooting the TV seems the easiest solution.
