When switching profiles, I lose remote control and have to use a keyboard to select - mecworks - 2023-04-07
I have Kodi running on a RPi and controlled remotely using the JSON-RPC API. I have a working profile and wanted to create a new one. Once created, I can switch between them just fine using a keyboard but I lose all control from the remote and cannot connect using the Kodi remote app on my iPhone either, which I think uses the HTTP API. Once switched using a keyboard, I can again control Kodi remotely.
It seems useless to have to use a keyboard to switch profiles. I don't want a keyboard connected to this media player. Am I doing something wrong or is this a shortcoming in Kodi?

you must have selected "Start Fresh" when asked "Start with fresh settings or copy default?" by Kodi when creating the new profile.
and now Control via HTTP is disabled in your settings on the second profile.

Either turn on control after creating profiles or select copy default when asked to retain settings as they are.
