Do the Linux builds of Kodi support a touch screen interface? - DJ_Izumi - 2023-08-12 For context, I'm using the Steam Deck with the Flatpak of Kodi 20.2. The Steam Deck features a touch screen and in it's default state the touch screen is just a mouse. You tap it, it sends mouse clicks. However it can operate in true 'touch screen' mode. You can enable touch screen mode for a given application, and if that application also supports touch screen, it works. Civilization 6 is an example of this, it's touch screen interface works out of the box on the Deck if you enable touch screen mode in the game control profile and then the game itself. I tried this on the Deck and notta. The only difference is with the control profile as 'touchscreen' it no longer emulates the mouse, so the touch screen goes from 'mouse emulation' to 'does nothing at all'. Before I go into log files and everything else asking for help, I gotta ask; Does this even work at all? I searched 'touch screen' on the linux support section of this forum and got zero results. Could getting the Android/iOS style touch interface on an x86 Linux PC just not a thing maybe? For additional context, would the touch screen work on Windows like a Surface tablet? RE: Do the Linux builds of Kodi support a touch screen interface? - DJ_Izumi - 2023-08-19 Yup, getting the vibe that 'Touch Screen On Linux' is a thing basically no one does, so no one has any input here. |
