Kodi not showing all content from folder, why? - xboxhaxorz - 2023-09-05

I have my usb drive attached to nvidia shield and in there is a folder called tv where each tv show is in their own folders, when i set content and scan it only shows 4 shows in the main screen but there are about 12 shows, i rescanned a few times but it remains the same

Some shows are in a single directory with the show name with all the seasons and other shows the seasons are all in the tv folder
Folder names are both simple with the show name only and others have a lot of characters
The 4 shows that are showing in the kodi screen have some or all of these factors same as all the other shows

In file manager i can find them and play them

Movies are fine, its just TV shows

I did a totally fresh install and the same issue occurs, its only the 4 shows that show

Your log does not show any scraping.
Create the log again, but make sure you run the Update Library so it is captured in the log.

That is the problem. You have incorrectly named your shows.
Saved.by.the.Bell.S02 No TV Show with that name exists
Silicon.Valley.S01.1080p.AMZN.WEBRip.DDP5.1.x265-SiGMA[rartv] No TV Show with that name exists
Star.Trek.Discovery.S01.HDR.1080p.WEB.h265-TRUMP[rartv] No TV Show with that name exists

I figured that was the issue, but Mr. D (2012) S01-S08 Season 1-8 [1080p CBC WEB-DL x265 10bit AAC 5.1]-CPT worked fine and so did Rectify.S02E10.1080p.BluRay.X264-GHOULS
Also all the movies with similar names worked, so i got confused as to why some worked and others did not even with all the extra characters

Sure, some will slip through and work, but most won't.

Movies have the same issue, though a bit more flexible. As long as you have the (year) before all the garbage, then it should work. eg World War Z (2013) [rarbg].dts.5.1.hevc.4k
Once the scanner finds the (year), it stops searching so anything after it is ignored.
Still, I recommend you leave all the garbage out.
