KODI stutter but VLC plays it fine? - Hagar1 - 2023-09-30
Was playing (trying) to play a 1080p BluRay x265 HEVC 10bit EAC3 7.1 and Kodi stumbled and stuttered. Got me to thinking my RX580 wasn't up to playing 265 HEVC, but when I realized, VLC did it without a hitch, my hardware is fine.
Why?

read your own post and pretend you are reading someone else's post on the internet - what exactly does your post say about your setup? windows/linux/android/libreelec/osmc? kodi 17/18/19/20/21?
other than a wild guess that RX580 is some sort of video card and that eliminates devices that would not use a video card there is no information
audio can cause stuttering, connection can, source type can, kodi versions have various fixes
save all the guessing and provide a Debug Log that shows the issue

Well, it was my video driver. Installed latest and I'm back in business.
