Can't play one movie plus various errors - mrob - 2024-03-27 Hi, I'm unable to play a movie. Works fine in VLC on my desktop, but not with Kodi. Kodi shows a dialog that says check the log, but I can't parse the issue (at 2024-03-27 10:58:30.699). UL'ing the log here: https://termbin.com/aaaa Secondly, I notice some Python errors with add-ons, and these are reported at startup time. E.g., at 2024-03-27 10:57:50.808, 2024-03-27 10:57:50.850, and 2024-03-27 10:57:51.086. I've tried updating both of these add-ons, but the errors persist. How should I proceed? Thanx P.S. Here's what ffprobe says about the MKV file that won't play: Quote: Metadata: RE: Can't play one movie plus various errors - DavidMelbourne - 2024-03-27 you said VLC plays it fine? on the same pc? Am aware of that, but that's not the file that's failing to play. As mentioned, it's in the log at 2024-03-27 10:58:30.699. Is x264 a problem? Which specific codecs and settings are acceptable for Kodi? It takes over a day to re-encode this each time, so trial and error is not a viable solution. I will need some specific guidance, thanks. EDIT: Problem solved. File permissions !! |
