can I output Kodi by streaming? - GiovanniG11 - 2024-06-12 Hi, I've read about airplay, but it's hard to manage. Any chance to output on HLS or UDP, rtsp, or any other know protocol? Thank you for your kind answers! RE: can I output Kodi by streaming? - GiovanniG11 - 2024-06-13 Please share your infos, thanks RE: can I output Kodi by streaming? - MatteN - 2024-06-13 General conduct, rule #6: Be patient. Kodi's user base is global and there are many more forum users asking questions than writing answers. Please wait at least 24 hours before bumping your own post unless you have new information to add. RE: can I output Kodi by streaming? - PatK - 2024-06-13 You will have to be more articulate in your question, Kodi is software and outputs it's video via your hardware drivers. What exactly are you trying to connect and what hardware system do you have at hand (AVR, TV, GFX card, HDMI cable?) When you use the word 'streaming', is that with a local source or some sort of internet add-on; are you trying to network? Networking (wiki) a proper debug log posted to a pastebin and that URL attached to your post goes a long way. RE: can I output Kodi by streaming? - GiovanniG11 - 2024-06-13 Thanks for answer. My goal is to send streaming data (HLS/webrtc preferable) from local pc to local TV by ethernet cable. Kodi is good choice as player, instead of capture screen, encode and send I would like to know if it can output by streaming, any protocol. But it looks it can output only by HDMI, right? Kodi just uses the connection provided by the operating system. From what you've have said, you want to stream the video signal via ethernet cable; in other words re-direct or push the graphic & audio signal. As mentioned full capture & file pushing would be unsuccessful without some sort of hardware intervention. But if all you're trying to do is play Kodi from a remote source (like you have your TV & Fire-stick in your bedroom, while your collection of videos are in another place and the connection is ethernet, then check this thread.. https://kodi.wiki/view/Yatse https://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:InputStream_Adaptive RE: can I output Kodi by streaming? - scott967 - 2024-06-14 I guess the closest to stream protocol is enable DLNA server in Kodi, if your render device supports it. Otherwise if Wifi is an option chromecast/miracast is sort of like a streaming protocol. scott s. . RE: can I output Kodi by streaming? - GiovanniG11 - 2024-06-17 Thank you for answers, yes I strictly aim to output video and audio but ethernet protocol, streaming. I am sure now it's not possible, pity, thanks. Airplay is only from a device (example phone) to Kodi, I suppose DLNA is the same, from phone to Kodi, and not from Kodi to a TV connected onbthe same LAN In this case Kodi has to show me an interface, chose which TV to connect to and what media push to it, and this menu is not present, so the feature doesn't exist. In short, Kodi is just a receiver, and not a streamer RE: can I output Kodi by streaming? - jbinkley60 - 2024-06-17 (2024-06-17, 13:18)GiovanniG11 Wrote: Thank you for answers, yes I strictly aim to output video and audio but ethernet protocol, streaming. Kodi can stream via DLNA but there are some limitations. You might want to research some of the Kodi sharing solutions. They work with Kodi and can streaming to a multitude of different devices in different formats. I personally stream to over a dozen different devices. Thanks, Jeff |
