Kodi sometimes takes 1 second to start a video, other times 10 seconds - trihy - 2024-06-17
Hi. Wondering what is causing this.
This problem been forever, from kodi v17 or lower to v21. Windows.
You can see on the video, the same videos sometimes takes forever to start and is not usable at all. Is not an storage speed problem at all.
Videos are mp4 from mame video snaps and usualy are low res 512x480 5mb files.

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.
If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)
In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.
Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

Seems like after the problem show, it will stay there, sometimes a kodi restart fixes it, sometimes not.
It happened with different hardware, pc, etc, so not related to that.

You haven't enabled debugging.

Hi. That was with enable debug logging on and component specific logging off, there is another setting I should enable?
I think I enabled it in the middle of the session and went to reproduce the bug.

It should be enabled and then Kodi restarted.

This problem was always there. Almost every time. Now had past like 10 days unable to reproduce it.
Maybe closing and launching kodi several times triggers this. I noticed when this happens, also kodi hang or freeze when trying to close it.
Will upload log when this happen again.

Switched between 3 or 4 videos, they all took 10 sec to reproduce, instead of 1 second.
Seems kodi also hangs at shutdown when this happens. I was able to reproduce the problem on every kodi launch. Tried 5 times, all times the problem showed at first try.

Not sure if could be related to kodi version check plugin. I disabled that and still didnt noticed the problem, but cant confirm 100%
