Movie set artwork Kodi 21 - justin150 - 2024-07-19

Apologies if this has been asked before but...

I like to have lots of eye candy in my build which uses a modded version of Silvio skin.  Am currently trying to get various views to show the logo, if one exists, for movie sets in my library.

Using listitem.art(clearlogo) delivers the correct result for movies and tvshows but there is no obvious way to get the clearlogo for the set nor, using the Silvio skin, even if you have correctly set up the library settings so that it has the movie set information folder, is there any way to add art types for movie sets to include clearlogo (or banners etc).

Looking through the Kodi documentation for listitems I see that there is a listitem.art(set.fanart) so it would seem logical that there should be a way of accessing the artwork but I am just not seeing it

So how do you display a clearlogo for movie sets?

I have to disagree with you. Aeon NoxSiLVO certainly does show clearlogos for movie sets. It may not be exactly what you want, but it does show it is possible to display clearlogos from the MSIF.

I am clearly doing something wrong then.  I have a completely clean Kodi 21 install.  The only thing on it is the latest version of the Silvio skin and my movie library - one key point may be that the library is set up to use locally stored information only for all movie details.  I have correctly pointed to the MSIF.  Within the MSIF each set has its own subfolder which contains the artwork.  I have even double checked the individual movie nfo files to ensure that they all correctly name the set they are part of (and the sub folder in the MSIF correctly uses that name).  I have correctly added clearlogo as an art type for each set and pointed to the stored artwork

The skin does not display movie set logos, does not matter which view I use.  I have tried it by changing settings in video library so that it displays sets as part of the list of movies - all that displays is the name of the set.  I have tried viewing sets only - again same problem does not pick up the artwork.

I have done some digging.  I decided to use the lowlist view for all testing (although i have confirmed it with other views).  In that view the logo is determined using ListItem,Art(clearlogo) [to be strictly accurate, the skin has a variable which is set in various ways depending on conditions and for movies and movie sets the variable is set to $INFO[ListItem.Art(clearlogo)]

For whatever reason ListItem.Art(clearlogo) does not pick up the information for the set in the MSIF.

I just cannot see what I am doing wrong - either I am missing something obvious or Kodi (or the Silvio skin) is missing something obvious or the MSIF simply does not work for anything other than posters and fanart

I'll move your thread into the AeonNox:SiLVO forum.

Can you provide a screenshot of your MSIF for one of the movie sets. I want to see the artwork in the folder, as well as the folder structure.
Also provide a screenshot of the same view as mine above.

You probably have, but Under Settings/Media/Videos, did you turn on "show movie sets"?  This needs to be done before you scan your library into the database.

This is a set in my collection using the Disk Box Sets  that were popular for quite some time.  This is the standard "View List". You can see the set disk case on the right, and the background is also set fanart. It does skew the aspect ratio a bit of the case, but I can deal with it.

Hmmm, no you don't. Maybe I have misunderstood your comment, but that setting won't affect scraping and the MSIF in any way.

Sorry for delay.  Here are the screenshots of my MSIF structure and an example sub-folder

That is the top structure to the MSIF

And an example sub folder is below

As you can see from the size of the images posting images in not my strong point!

I am just not seeing what I am doing wrong

All looks fine in the images.
Have you added the path to this setting for the MSIF?... https://kodi.wiki/view/Settings/Media/Videos#Movie_set_information_folder
Are you adding the artwork before or after scraping to the library. Adding artwork before will allow Kodi to search for it during scanning. Adding it after, and Kodi won't have a clue that it is there.
I'll need a Debug Log that captures the scanning. Delete a movie collection from your library. Then rescan them into the library and capture that in a Debug Log.

Many thanks.  Sorry for delay in responding - life got in the way!

I do not know about the order for scanning.  I will try deleting my library and rescanning and see if that helps

Thank you. I had forgotten about this little glitch. I set it to show movie sets and then deleted my movie library and re-added it. All the artwork is there now and looks like I expect it to. I don't like having sets enabled, instead having it as a sub menu option but I don't think it will continue to update the sets if I switch it back. Lots of pros and cons to consider. Anyway, thank you for posting this.
